Martian Manhunter #10 (MY SON!)
This issue is clearly another great bit of exposition as we find out that the child is the consciousness of Mars but in the form of J'onn's dead son. It's an important bit as we find out more about what happened to Mars and the events that led us to this point and how J'onn became the Martian Manhunter. Mr. Biscuits once again steals the show with not only his great dialogue but by the responses by him to seeing the Martian child. We've only heard little bits of how Mars go to this point and it's sad to hear that it was because the people of Mars mistook the voice of the planet as a threat of invasion. It again reminds me of Doctor Who as the Doctor and even Clara have stated that the Time Lords have created their own problems like the Time War. As everyone tries to get the consciousness of Mars to lower the barrier keeping them in, it's a question of exactly how this will affect J'onn Jonnz as the issues of Mars threaten once again to take away everything from him.

Earth 2 Society#10 (TOO MANY POINTS)
So we get confirmation that this new Earth has no resources like oil or gas while at the same time a growing movement of people against Wonders has garnered attention along with Batman trying to stop a deadly power source with Red Arrow and Ted Grant. At the same time, Shayera finds out that the Amazons have teamed up with the Atlanteans. This is actually a bit too much but it does all work, the problem is that it just feels like too much at once. It seems that the energy issue tied in with two cities going to war is enough especially when tied with the truth about the planet.. Add the Amazon Atlantean threat that Kendra uncovers with the Wonders issue later and we'd have a really great run. I'm not saying it's bad because it has been handled well enough but this just seems like a lot going on only in issue ten. I did like seeing Martha Kent surprisingly speaking out against people the Wonder, admitting how  she loved her son but acknowledged that her husband was killed because of people with super powers. The anti-Wonder movement is essentially about people wanting to go their own way without feeling they are being ruled by people who have super powers and I'm hoping she and Val Zod meet up, especially with Val no longer being Superman.

Doctor Fate #10 (JAIL BREAK JUSTICE!)
Again another fun issue as Khalid tries to find a way to break the middle east protesters out. It was nice seeing Khalid figuring ways to defeat the ghosts using light was awesome. The stuff going on in the background was interesting. Seeing his father try to keep his identity secret is fun if a bit cliche but with Khalid's teacher meeting the dean to talk about possibly removing him is a bit frightening but it makes sense since we are being told he is never in class. It is very much a Spider Man like plot point in some ways from the Ramey era and like that, I kind of felt this needed more. Like if we saw Khalid going to class and then leaving before going in but it seems even Khalid's girlfriend hasn't seen him lately. I do like how we hear about Khalid being related to Kent Nelson, someone who was Doctor Fate pre-52. With Khalid going up against Julius Caesar next, I wonder how he will deal with that and his academic future.

Sinestro #21 (New leadership, old threats)
The Sinestro Corp emerges victorious, having successfully defended Earth from the Paling and destroying the Pale Biship but at heavy cost to Sinestro having been forced to leave his daughter in charge. What makes this issue interesting is how little it actually focuses on Sinestro and instead his daughter. Soranik is sued to being a Green Lantern and is surprised when she finds people like them and even more when Sinestro says they are leaving, especially as the rings are taken back. I wonder what the repercussions of leaving Arkillo and St. Walker on Earth will bring Sinestro, even more with how Mongul has escaped. The dialogue between Sinestro and Black Adam was really nice, the two of them have proven to be not only similar but possibly the closest thing to a friend Sinestro has had since Abin Sur. Seeing Bekka talk to Wonder Woman and Superman were interesting and it was hilarious as they mentioned they felt enamored with her slightly.

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4 (OH MAN!)
This may have been my favorite issue so far and it oddly had the least amount of the Shredder and Ra's, it's mostly Batman and the Turtles. Seeing Batman interact with the turtles differently (sparing with Leo and Splinter, letting Donnie use the computer, eating pizza with Mikey and bonding with Raph) were all great moments.I think the moment with Raph was a bit overdone and I think it would have been better if Alfred had told him about his parents while Batman didn't say anything but the scene was well handled. Raph would be the more critical of the turtles of a guy like Batman and viewing it as a game is something an outside person would (like Bullock and Harper Row) seen. I must have missed a part last issue where they told Casey about the problem that needed mutagen but the fact that the Foot now have mutagen and are taking it to Arkham Asylum is frightening and exciting, especially with a presumably asleep Joker.

Doctor Strange #5 (we brought the Harry Potter theory in)
WIZARD WAR!!!!! This was fun and rather scary as we see Strange and other wizards go against the Empirikull. It's a real and viable threat that Strange is facing, the destruction of magic on Earth against a science based organization. We have a lot of good dialogue from Strange about exactly how bad magic is dying and we have a lot of references to other magic based works like Aladdin and Harry Potter; for with the death of magic, Aladdin and Jasmine fall of the carpet and Harry's story never leaves Privet Drive.. It's interesting and emotional seeing what a world like magic can mean and even more as we see Strange get pushed to his limit.I have no idea how this is going to resolve itself and I love it, it's one of the best things about a new book starting even with an iconic character, we son't know how it ends because we don't know how the writer will tackle it. Easy one of my favorites.

Starfire #10 (Awesome and stressful)
The battle in Strata was short but straightforward. Seeing Atlee and Starfire let lose with all their power and rage was just awesome as they save Strata and it was awesome. This book has been more of a character based story over action and I felt this would have been better with the same art direction but it did the job. We got a lot of information about Strata and it really does feel like Atlee was a bit based off of Power Girl in some ways, she just kind of gives off the vibe we got when she was in World's Finest with Helena. What didn't work was Syl'kee playing with Sol's mind and making him kiss his friend. It's adding unnecessary drama and it does worry me that Starfire and Sol won't really last by the time this book ends in May. I could just be reading too much into it though. Overall the issue was fun and I look forward to next issue.
